One month after Washington State voters approved the state's marriage equality law in Ref. 74, couples lined up to get marriage licenses on December 6th, 2012. Shortly after midnight, King County Executive Dow Constantine, right, began to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. First in line are Jane Abbott Lighty, 77, left, and Pete-e Petersen, 85. The couple has been together for 35 years and live in West Seattle. They are getting married on Dec 9th, the first day it is possible for same-sex couple to wed in Washington State.
